Cat Scan Technologists use computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross‑section images of patients’ internal organs and tissues for diagnosis. A CT Technologist must accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. Your responsibilities include:

• Provide solid to expert knowledge of all CT procedures.
• Communicate and work independently in performing all CT procedures on patients ranging in age from newborn to late adulthood.
• Use computed tomography equipment to take images of a patient’s body from different angles.
• Prepare patients for radiological procedures by positioning them, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified positions, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Reflect concern and consideration when interacting with patients, medical staff, and employees.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of 24‑month AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology; certified by ARRT.
• ARRT(RT)(CT) required; CE compliance and current BLS certification required.
• One year diagnostic experience required; CT experience preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Proficiency in ARRT‑CT and ARRT‑R techniques.
• Associate degree or completion of a vocational school program.
