As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) / CNA, you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the RN, you will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with your PCT/CNA’s skills and training and maintain a clean, safe environment.
Responsibilities- Implement nursing care plans by performing direct and indirect patient care under licensed nurse supervision.
- Obtain and record patient information throughout the cycle of care including admissions data, vital signs, height & weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, blood glucose levels, intake & output, and calorie counts.
- Document observations, interactions, patient responses, and any physical or behavioral changes at the time of occurrence.
- Assist with mobility by regularly turning and positioning patients, using walkers and other devices, and transferring patients to and from other departments.
- Assist patients with daily living activities including eating, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination.
- Demonstrate caring and empathy in all interactions and advocate for patient‑ and family‑centered approaches in all decisions and actions.
- Seek opportunities to impact the organization’s growth by promoting excellence in patient experience and providing high‑quality care.
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Preferred: CNA training program.
- Required:
CNA certification with the state or Fundamentals of Nursing Course at an accredited school. - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via AHA or Red Cross.
- Preferred:
One year or more of experience in an acute care setting.
