- Secondary: San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX Work Arrangement: Hybrid
- Onsite: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
- Remote: Tuesdays and Fridays
We are seeking an experienced Digital PDF Accessibility Remediation Specialist to support PDF accessibility remediation across our digital properties. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience assessing, tagging, and fixing PDF documents to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. This role requires a strong understanding of accessibility principles and advanced proficiency with relevant remediation tools.
Key Responsibilities PDF Remediation & Tagging- Assess, remediate, and manually tag complex PDF documents
- Ensure PDFs meet accessibility compliance standards (WCAG, PDF/UA)
- Utilize accessibility features within tools such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, InDesign, and Excel
- Apply best practices for document structure, reading order, and tagging
- Use built‑in accessibility checkers prior to PDF conversion
- Perform manual accessibility testing (color contrast, reading order, keyboard navigation, etc.)
- Independently troubleshoot and resolve accessibility issues
- Manage multiple remediation tasks across different teams simultaneously
- Document remediation activities and track progress effectively
- Interpret and apply accessibility audit findings
- Maintain organized file management and reporting
- Clearly explain accessibility concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with content creators, designers, and project managers throughout the document lifecycle
- Working knowledge of assistive technologies such as JAWS, NVDA, and Voice Over
- Provide guidance and feedback to content creators on accessible document best practices
- Support teams in improving accessibility awareness and compliance
