Accounting Associate – Contract Role

Location: Long Beach, CA 90810 (Primarily Remote)

Pay Rate: $32.79–$41.11 per hour

We are seeking an Accounting Associate to support Accounts Payable operations for a leading organization. This contract role is primarily remote, but candidates must be local to Long Beach, CA and able to come into the office a few times a week for brief on‑site tasks such as retrieving and scanning checks.

• Process AP invoices accurately and efficiently within established timelines
• Perform data entry and support daily AP functions
• Reconcile AP accounts with the general ledger to maintain accurate financial records
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Production Control, and Shipping to resolve missing items, incorrect documentation, and pricing discrepancies
• Manage cash applications and assist with collection of past‑due accounts
• Maintain and update customer account information for AR and Sales reporting
• Process deviations to resolve discrepancies between vendor invoices and system quantities or pricing
• Initiate wire transfers and checks via JP Morgan Access
• Perform additional duties as assigned

• Accounts Payable experience required
• Local to Long Beach with ability to work on‑site part‑time
• Strong critical thinking skills; able to identify and escalate issues such as missing POs or pricing adjustments
• Competent in Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication, customer service, and analytical abilities
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to follow established processes
• Understanding of basic accounting principles
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (0–3 years)

• Experience with Oracle OPS or Oracle Fusion
