The Senior Accounting Analyst supports business objectives within the Controller organization. You will manage financial accounting, reporting, and month-end close processes while serving as a liaison with ALABS shared services. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial data through rigorous analysis and internal/external audit support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Month-End Procedures: Prepare and post journal entries for general accounting, accruals, inventory/stock (Mass Balance), and product costing.
- Financial Accuracy: Perform tasks ensuring accurate financial and statistical close processes, including general ledger account reconciliations for significant sales, COS, and OPEX accruals.
- Product Costing: Calculate and maintain standard costs for gas and hard goods; prepare daily Moving Average Price (MAP) analysis and cost of sales account reconciliations.
- Reporting & Compliance: Prepare internal reports for Division, Regional, and Corporate branches while ensuring compliance with financial policies and IFRS/GAAP.
- Process Improvement: Participate in enhancements to accounting and reporting processes by leveraging systems and reporting tools.
- Team Support: Provide direction and training to the team's accounting staff and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of three years in financial reporting/accounting.
- Costing Expertise: Minimum of two years in a costing role within a manufacturing environment (produced vs. procured costing, moving average price, and inventory analytics).
- Technical
Skills:
Solid understanding of general accounting matters and IFRS/GAAP; intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Access). - Soft Skills: Strong client service mindset, proven organizational skills, and the ability to navigate a complex matrixed organization.
- CPA and/or MBA in Finance/Accounting.
- Public accounting experience and exposure to medium-to-large companies.
- Advanced experience with SAP software or similar ERP systems.
