About the RoleThe Controller will serve as the outsourced CFO for multiple non‑profit clients, working both virtually and on‑site. Responsibilities include financial reporting, internal controls, accounting operations, and client relationship management.
Responsibilities- Transform nonprofit client financial departments to support their mission
- Prepare financial reports for management and Board decision‑making
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, internal controls, and compliance policies
- Manage transactional activities: accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end close
- Analyze data, create visualizations, and provide budgeting and forecasting
- Oversee grant management, allocations, and funder reporting
- Prepare for and manage annual audits
- Provide client and staff training opportunities
- Passionate about working in or supporting nonprofit organizations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
- 5‑7+ years of accounting experience
- Experience working remotely preferred
- Ability to manage multiple clients, work independently, and respond promptly
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with multiple GL packages (especially Quick Books) and electronic bill‑pay systems
- Non‑profit accounting, public accounting, or consulting experience is a plus
- CPA certification is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Starting hourly rate: $50 to $65 per hour (non‑exempt). Total compensation may increase with overtime and bonuses. Professional development reimbursement and technology stipend are provided annually.
