Job Summary

The CED Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the College of Education (CED), the CED ASM, and CED Departments, as needed. This position will be assigned to support various Departments, Department Chairs/Directors, faculty, staff, and students in a wide variety of areas, including communications, scheduling & program support, record keeping, and personnel matters. The Admin Assistant also acts as a customer service specialist for its constituents: faculty, staff, students, and the public-at-large.

This position may support multiple department units at one time and the various units supported can be complex in nature and will require the ability to learn the intricacies of each department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration, Communications, & Customer Service:
    Refers students to the appropriate CED and University resources, based on their needs.
  • Scheduling & Program Support:
    Assist in the process of assigned time requests and reports, and comprehensive exams when needed.
  • Record Keeping & Inventory:
    Process/track special facility requests and parking arrangements.
  • Personnel Matters:
    Assist in maintaining full time and part time faculty files. File student evaluations, appointment forms, and any other personnel related issues.

This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range:
The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,565 (Step #1) - $5,092 (Step # 20) per month.
