Our client, RDC-S111, a well-established architecture and design firm, is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer to support retail projects. This role coordinates the development of design and presentation documents, contributes to ideation and project design goals, and ensures design integrity across all phases. You’ll collaborate with architects, designers, and technical staff to deliver functional, brand-aligned retail environments that balance aesthetics, customer experience, and efficiency.

This position is ideal for an experienced retail designer who thrives on hands‑on design execution, visual presentation, and mentoring junior staff in a collaborative team environment.

Project Leadership & Delivery

• Coordinate the development of design and presentation documents for retail projects.
• Formulate and document design goals for interiors, store layouts, fixtures, finishes, and lighting.
• Provide recommendations on building materials, colors, fixtures, and design solutions.
• Create renderings, presentation packages, and models to convey design intent.
• Present design progress to clients and internal teams.

Technical & Quality Oversight

• Execute routine design tasks including diagramming, modeling, detailing, material research, and drafting.
• Ensure adherence to company CAD/Revit standards and procedures; mentor junior staff and interns.
• Facilitate coordination with clients, governmental agencies, tenants, and consultants.
• Evaluate design efficiency, innovative products, and cost‑saving measures.

Team Development & Mentorship

• Guide junior designers in developing architectural and retail design skills.
• Encourage learning and application of current codes, materials, and design technologies.
• Maintain organized schedules and ensure project deliverables are on track.

Business Development

• Assist with research of design trends and market intelligence in retail and hospitality.
• Support process improvements and contribute to firm‑wide design excellence initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program preferred.
• 5+ years of retail‑focused architectural design experience.
• Knowledge of design development, construction documents, and site planning.
• Proficiency in Sketch Up, AutoCAD, Revit (latest versions), and other graphic/business software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self‑starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
