Physician, Cardiac Surgery

Memorial Care Specialty Medical Group is seeking a board-certified cardiac surgeon to join our rapidly expanding program. Located in beautiful Orange County, California, and minutes from both the beach and mountains, Memorial Care Saddleback Medical Center is a nationally recognized hospital with a regional reputation for providing high-quality, complex cardiac care. Our three surgeons perform a high proportion of complex cardiac surgeries, including aortic surgery, robotic surgery, reoperations, and multi-valve procedures.

Our program is supported by five excellent physician assistants, a hybrid OR, and a brand new da Vinci 5 robot.

We seek a skilled cardiac surgeon who is passionate about collaborative care. The ideal candidate will excel in a team-oriented setting, demonstrating exceptional communication, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to upholding our high standards for patient outcomes and surgical excellence. Exceptional board-eligible new graduates may be considered.

• Surgical Consultation & Planning:
  Evaluate patient histories and diagnostic data (echocardiograms, angiograms) to diagnose cardiovascular conditions and develop comprehensive surgical treatment plans.
• Surgical Procedures:
  Perform a wide range of complex cardiac operations, ranging from aortic dissection repair to CABG to TAVR-- with excellent outcomes.
• Intraoperative Leadership:
  Lead the surgical team in the operating room, managing procedures effectively and responding to any complications in real time.
• Postoperative Management:
  Oversee all aspects of postoperative care in the ICU and surgical wards, collaborating with critical care teams to monitor patient recovery and prevent complications.
• Interdisciplinary
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Work collaboratively with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists to ensure cohesive patient care across all phases of treatment.
• Documentation & Compliance:
  Maintain meticulous patient records in compliance with all hospital, state, and federal regulatory standards.
• Patient & Family Communication:
  Educate patients and their families regarding surgical risks, expected outcomes, and necessary postoperative recovery protocols.
• Attendance Standards:
  Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is an essential function of the services provided.
• On-Call Coverage:
  Provide on‑call cardiothoracic surgery coverage consistent with medical staff requirements. Weekend call is one (1) in five (5).
• Medical Staff Privileges:
  Primary location will be Saddleback Medical Center, but privileges will also be required for Orange Coast Medical Center and Long Beach Medical Center, to support the needs of Memorial Care Heart & Vascular Institute.

• American Board of Thoracic Surgery certification
• Successfully obtain Memorial Care hospital’s privileges
