Full-Time Lecturer, Counseling Psychology (1-Academic Year , Renewable).
Effective Date: August 18, 2025 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range: The Full-Time Lecturer B (Academic Year) classification salary is $74,652 to $158,688 per academic year (paid as 12 monthly payments). The anticipated hiring range is $75,000 to $85,008 per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Psy.
D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2025. - Demonstrated experience providing counseling and/or mental health services, especially in culturally responsive ways that serve a racially, linguistically and socioeconomically diverse clientele.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and engaging effectively with a racially, linguistically and socioeconomically diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of a current clinical license (psychologist, marriage and family therapist, licensed professional clinical counselor, or social work) from the State of California.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas: empirically supported therapeutic models, child therapy, family-focused treatment, couples therapy, psychological assessment, pharmacology, advocacy, telehealth/online therapeutic services.
- Excellent record of teaching, mentoring, and advising college or university students from ethnically and culturally diverse groups, including application of culturally responsive pedagogy.
- Demonstrated effectiveness or potential to contribute to the College of Education’s focus on equity in urban education.
- Demonstrated experience teaching core counseling courses (e.g., family/couples therapy, play therapy).
- Demonstrated experience as a clinical supervisor.
- Demonstrated experience teaching or working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body.
Duties
- Teach core courses in the Counseling Psychology program and provide clinical supervision at our on-site clinic. Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, or a combination thereof.
- Actively engage in program-related service activities such as student advising, fieldwork coordination, and admissions at the master’s level.
- Work collaboratively with other faculty and staff across the program, department, college, and university.
- Maintain a campus office work schedule aligned with department workload.
