Akkodis is recruiting for a Seat Design Engineer (Seating Sys Engineer - Seat Complete) for an automotive manufacturer in the Long Beach, CA. This is an onsite contract position with a pay range of $55 an hour to $62 an hour depending on education, experience and location. The Seats Design Engineer will lead the design and development of seating systems including structures, mechanisms, foam, and trim for vehicle interiors.

This position requires expertise in mechanical design, comfort and safety compliance, and manufacturability optimization.
Automotive seating complete seat complete– candidate will handle the entire process- needs to be mechanical design engineer and design release engineer in one person; will spec it, design it and take it to production. Must address safety, comfort and durability as well as manufacturability. Automotive seating full structure of seat.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, or relevant.
• 4-7 years of experience in automotive seat system design
  .
• Must understand legal ramifications in seating
• Proficiency in 3DX/ CATIA V6
  , GD&T, and DVP&R documentation.
• Strong knowledge of seat mechanisms, foam development, and trim design
  .
• Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA and validation testing
  .
