Overview
Cordoba Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer with strong communication skills and field experience to assist the Construction Manager in daily management, reporting, communications, operations, coordination, and general administrative needs of projects. The position is located in Long Beach, on campus at Long Beach City College (LBCCD), where Cordoba has served as prime consultant for the LBCCD Bond Program Management Team since 2006.
The program covers more than 30 facilities across campuses and remote sites over 144 square miles, with services including site development and planning, design management, project controls, financial analysis, program management, construction management and commissioning, community outreach, internal/external communications, and move management.
- Project communications, including meeting minutes
- Receive, coordinate, and distribute all project correspondence
- Maintain records and track all meeting action items
- Assist Construction Manager (CM) with resolution of issues
- Create, distribute, and maintain minutes for all project meetings
- Schedule project meetings
- Develop tracking logs in Excel or other district PMIS software
- Assist the CM with all change management processes
- Assist in the management of project controls through district software
- Create and/or manage RFI, ASI, CD, COR, and RFP logs
- Create change management documents for approval by the CM
- Assist CM in monitoring daily work against the construction schedule
- Assist CM in the management of quality assurance mechanisms
- Track Submittals & Shop Drawings, receive, record, and verify compliance for all submittals
- Disseminate submittals to appropriate individuals for review
- Track, log, and file submittals
- Maintain Record Documents
- Maintain project history with chronological timeline of project photographs
- Update As-Built drawings, as required
- Prepare closeout documents for DSA certification and turnover of project to district
- Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related discipline is required
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in construction management/construction administration in educational and/or public works projects in California
- Knowledge of construction management procedures
- Knowledge of contract documents
- Knowledge of industry practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with the Division of the State Architect preferred
- Experience with Expedition (Contract Manager) preferred
Salary range: $65,000 – $78,000
