Manufacturing Engineer II, Turbo machinery

Long Beach, California

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. You’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time.

About the Team

The Engine Manufacturing team is dedicated to delivering high-performance engines and advancing innovative manufacturing systems that continuously improve cost, quality, and lead time. You will own the manufacturing trades and develop processes for fabricating, testing, and delivering critical Aeon‑R hardware and subassemblies. You will serve as the main point of contact between the manufacturing and design teams as we optimize Aeon‑R architecture and scale manufacturing operations.

To be successful, you should thrive in ambiguity and drive your own projects to completion.

  • Degree in engineering or related technical field and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with turbopump assembly procedures, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks
  • Manufacturing Process
