We're seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support offshore construction projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both fieldwork and coordination, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering excellence on complex marine and heavy civil projects.
You'll play a key role in day-to-day project operations coordinating field activities, communicating with project management, maintaining accurate production and safety records, and potentially serving as the SSHO or QC Manager for military projects.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce all safety policies and regulations, including MSHA, OSHA, and USACE standards.
- Lead safety meetings and ensure compliance with company and client quality control standards.
- Assist in planning and scheduling work activities; coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to meet project goals.
- Maintain accurate daily logs of crew activities, production, and equipment usage.
- Track material quantities for payment verification and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager.
- Perform progress surveys, assist with project documentation, and ensure project records are up to date.
- Support field operations with problem‑solving, technical guidance, and proactive communication between field and office teams.
- Bachelor's degreein Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or Project Engineer/Manager in marine or heavy civil construction.
- Valid California drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
- Strong knowledge of construction document control and general construction practices.
- Willingness to travel for out-of-town assignments; weekend work may occasionally be required.
- Experience managing or supporting military projects, with familiarity with safety standards.
- Surveying experience especially hydrographic or topographic surveying.
- Experience with estimating software such as Heavy Bid.
- Experience with construction.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level. Employees may be eligible to participate in company employee benefit programs such as health insurance, savings plan, pension plan, disability plan, vacation pay, sick time, holiday pay, and work, personal, and family time off in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
