Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

We're seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support offshore construction projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both fieldwork and coordination, thrives in a collaborative environment, and takes pride in delivering excellence on complex marine and heavy civil projects.

You'll play a key role in day-to-day project operations coordinating field activities, communicating with project management, maintaining accurate production and safety records, and potentially serving as the SSHO or QC Manager for military projects.

• Enforce all safety policies and regulations, including MSHA, OSHA, and USACE standards.
• Lead safety meetings and ensure compliance with company and client quality control standards.
• Assist in planning and scheduling work activities; coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to meet project goals.
• Maintain accurate daily logs of crew activities, production, and equipment usage.
• Track material quantities for payment verification and report any discrepancies to the Project Manager.
• Perform progress surveys, assist with project documentation, and ensure project records are up to date.
• Support field operations with problem‑solving, technical guidance, and proactive communication between field and office teams.

• Bachelor's degreein Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience as a Field Engineer or Project Engineer/Manager in marine or heavy civil construction.
• Valid California drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• Strong knowledge of construction document control and general construction practices.
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town assignments; weekend work may occasionally be required.

• Experience managing or supporting military projects, with familiarity with safety standards.
• Surveying experience especially hydrographic or topographic surveying.
• Experience with estimating software such as Heavy Bid.
• Experience with construction.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
