Lead

Fluids Technician

Based out of Rocket Lab’s Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Lead Fluids Technician is responsible for supporting the fluids sub‑assemblies for the Archimedes engine.

What you’ll get to do:
  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the fluid’s technician team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex fluid system challenges.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for tube bending, fluid system assembly, and inspection processes.
You’ll bring these qualifications as a Lead Fluids Technician
  • 10+ years’ experience in aviation, aerospace, or a similar industry.
  • OTW background.
  • High school diploma or GED.
These qualifications would be nice to have
  • Expertise in advanced tube bending and fabrication for fluid systems using materials such as titanium, stainless steel, and Inconel.
  • Experience in assembling and installing fluid systems, including tubing, fittings, valves, and other components, ensuring precise alignment and optimal functionality.
  • Proficiency in operating and calibrating tube bending machines (e.g., BLM Smart, Eaton Leonard VB) and utilizing related software (e.g., VGP).
  • Knowledge of AMS, AWS/ASME, ASTM standards.
Additional requirements
  • Willing to work Monday – Friday (6:00 am‑2:30 pm or 2:00 pm‑10:30 pm).
  • Standing for long periods, climbing ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces.
  • Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods – at least 8 hours.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
Base Pay Range (CA Only)

$35 – $50 USD per hour.
