Manufacturing Engineering – Sr. RF Test EngineerBased out of Rocket Lab’s Headquarters in Long Beach, CA, the Sr. RF Test Engineer designs, tests, and integrates RF components and assemblies used across all programs. The role supports the Manufacturing Engineering Manager for Avionics and Space Systems as well as the Production and Design organizations.
What you’ll do- Lead RF test design reviews and contribute to supplier capability assessments.
- Design and troubleshoot RF test setups (S‑Band, X, C bands) and associated support equipment.
- Develop automated test hardware and platforms to support test programs with intent of delivery to production.
- Manage, conduct, and train production team members on Acceptance, Qualification and Proto‑Flight test programs.
- Define and implement factory layouts, equipment selection, FAT, SAT, and production commissioning.
- Justify capital and facilities, manage project implementation.
- Lead problem containment and structured root‑cause & corrective action investigations.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, manufacturing or related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience with hardware development or electronics test engineering.
- Python programming experience.
- Understanding of electrical test equipment, test procedures, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation.
- Extensive experience applying electronic circuit fundamentals, RF design principles, and manufacturing techniques to solve component issues in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical requirements include close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to sit, use hands/fingers, operate a computer keyboard, and communicate verbally and in writing. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate noise is expected. Availability to work long hours and weekends as needed based on test and launch schedules.
Base pay range (California only): $120,000 – $170,000 USD.
