Ford’s Electric Vehicles, Digital & Design (EVDD) team is charged with delivering the company’s vision of a fully electric transportation future. • Collaborate with Aerodynamics, Ergonomics, Engineering, and Design teams to create visually, geometrically, and functionally representative physical test properties.
• Develop unique approaches for using physical test properties to evaluate and define aerodynamic devices or customer user experiences in future electric vehicles.
• Hands‑on CAD design, fabrication, and assembly of static and functional prototypes at component, subsystem, and full vehicle levels.
• Project‑manage and source components from internal and external vendors of waterjet, rapid‑prototyped, machined components, and composite lay‑up.

• Pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Must be able to work in Long Beach, CA office for a 6‑month period.
• Graduation and availability for full‑time work prior to September 2025.
• Experience in one or more CAD programs (Catia, NX, Creo, Solid Works).
• Experience with hands‑on prototyping, fabrication, and assembly.
• Experience defining rapid prototyping, machining, and fabrication processes and materials to achieve the desired final appearance and functional requirements.
• Awareness of DFA, DFMEA, GD&T, and solid mechanics.
• Team‑first mindset and ability to multi‑task under tight deadlines.
• Ability to think creatively and champion innovative prototype solutions.
• Strong problem‑solving, conflict‑management skills, superb communication, and the ability to adapt to dynamic requirements.

This position is a salary grade 5.
