Moffatt & Nichol is searching for a Vice President / Transportation Lead West to join our team. The right candidate for this role will have strategic management and business development experience in the major western infrastructure markets for engineering and construction services, including highways and bridges, rail and transit, and water resources. Other infrastructure experience, including port markets, is also valued.
The ideal candidate has no less than 20 years of experience in the A/E/C industry on the West coast and has a proven track record of building client relationships and winning business.

Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Guide the development of strategic management and business development in major infrastructure markets in the western US for engineering and construction services, including highways and bridges, rail and transit, water and stormwater, ports, and freight corridors.
- Manage pursuit teams and all aspects of strategic business development.
- Develop new client relationships and expand business opportunities.
- Work with the team to develop proposals that address clients’ needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Analyze and focus on new markets, mergers, and acquisitions to identify business opportunities, increase market share, and secure a competitive position.
- Promote the organization in industry trade associations and present an image reflecting the client’s interests.
- Collaborate with design and sales teams to ensure requirements are met.
- Conduct strategic positioning and planning, teaming, contract negotiations, and government and client relations.
- Maintain a deep understanding of our products, industry competition, and positioning.
- Lead the development of top talent to ensure projects receive the right expertise and the highest quality service for our clients.

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction or a related area; required.
- 20+ years of experience in strategic management and business development in major infrastructure markets for engineering and construction services across the Western United States; required.
- Proven track record of building client relationships and winning business in the highway and bridge, rail and transit, water resources, and preferably the port and waterfront industries; required.
- Experience in program management on large infrastructure projects; required.
- Successfully built and trained an industry‑recognized team that identified and grew new and existing service lines in western US markets; required.
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
