REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, typing skills, and familiarity with office practices and procedures are essential.
  • Ability to work systematically, demonstrate initiative, and complete tasks independently without constant supervision.
  • Capability to follow established protocols and suggest improvements for smoother operations when necessary.
  • Must maintain good physical and mental health.
  • Experience strongly preferred.
REPORTING
  • The Medical Records Assistant reports directly to the Medical Records Director.
  • The position is M-F, 8AM-4:30PM.
JOB DUTIES
  • Process daily mail and filing, including copying Telephone Orders and managing mail-outs.
  • Handle incoming calls related to Medical Records.
  • Conduct assigned room checks and provide assistance as needed.
  • Perform Telephone Order Audits.
  • Execute Medication Audits.
  • Carry out Weekly Summary Audits.
  • Conduct Treatment Audits.
  • Perform Certified Nursing Assistant Audits, including any relevant logs.
  • Oversee Admission Audits.
  • Manage Physician Visits and follow-up calls, ensuring documentation in the patient’s record.
  • Update General Logs monthly and as required.
  • Process Discharge Charts.
  • Prepare admission charts as necessary.
  • Print Reports and input Physician Orders as needed.
  • Maintain the nurses' stations with necessary forms and make copies as required.
  • Assist nursing staff, MDs, and other personnel with follow-ups as necessary.
  • Copy Patient Records as requested.
  • Conduct Qualitative Audits as needed.
  • Provide coverage for the Receptionist when required.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the Medical Records Direc
