Position SummaryThe Unit Secretary provides clerical support functions to a specific patient care unit, while maintaining excellent customer service skills. This role works in conjunction with unit staff to organize and maintain the accurate accounting of all necessary data. In collaboration with the healthcare team, the Unit Secretary will coordinate and prioritize patient, physician and staff needs. The key essential job functions of this role include customer focus, patient experience, communication, and time management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job* Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements Qualifications/Work Experience- 1+ years of recent experience preferred as a Unit Secretary or Ward Clerk in a comparable size facility within the same or similar specialty area.
- Proficient in Medical Terminology is favored.
- Certificate of completion of a formal Unit Secretary program, CNA/EDT experience, or successful completion of one semester in an accredited RN program.
- Bachelors degree preferred.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Completion of Medical Terminology class‑preferred
