Accounting Manager – On-Call (Public Sector | Long Beach, CA)

Position Overview

Alivia Group Staffing is establishing an on-call bench of experienced Accounting Managers to support anticipated public-sector financial operations for agencies in the Long Beach area. Assignments may include oversight of accounting functions, audit coordination, internal controls, and financial reporting initiatives.

This position is part of an on-call talent pool being established for anticipated public-sector accounting projects. Placement is contingent upon contract award and client-approved task order requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and review accounting operations and financial reporting activities
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules
• Ensure compliance with GASB
  , governmental accounting standards, and internal controls
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits
• Assess financial risks and recommend control improvements
• Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff
• Prepare and review management reports and financial analyses
• Support special projects and complex accounting initiatives

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Prior experience in public-sector or governmental accounting strongly preferred
• Demonstrated supervisory or management experience
• Strong working knowledge of GASB standards
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools
• Ability to work on-site in Long Beach, CA
• Must be eligible to pass Live Scan background screening

Pay Rate: $55 – $75 per hour (W-2)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, standard business hours

Work Location: On-site in Long Beach, CA
