As a Group Lead, in our Tool Crib department, you will serve as a key link between suppliers, operations, and production teams to ensure materials are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and support manufacturing objectives. This hands‑on Group Lead role is responsible for driving supplier accountability, coordinating daily activities, resolving material and quality issues, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.

Working closely with suppliers and cross‑functional teams, you will help ensure the successful execution of quality, cost, delivery, and operational performance goals while providing guidance and support to team members.

What your day might look like:

  • Drive supplier performance by monitoring quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness metrics, holding vendors accountable through scorecards, performance reviews, and corrective action plans.
  • Analyze supplier quality data, incoming inspection results, non‑conformances, and delivery trends to identify risks, drive root cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Coordinate material deliveries, inventory management, and resource planning activities to ensure production schedules are met and supply chain disruptions are minimized.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while collaborating with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Logistics teams to resolve issues and improve operational performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives by leveraging data analysis, supplier partnerships, and a strong sense of ownership to improve quality, delivery, and overall business results.

This posting outlines the primary responsibilities of the role, but is not all‑inclusive; additional duties may be assigned in alignment with business needs.

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Experience in supplier quality, vendor management, materials management, procurement, manufacturing, or quality assurance, with a strong understanding of how supplier performance impacts quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example in a manufacturing, supply chain, quality, or materials environment by coordinating daily activities, providing guidance to team members, and helping drive safety, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to evaluate supplier performance, inspection results, material shortages, and operational data to identify issues and support effective decision‑making
  • Working knowledge of quality inspection processes, incoming material verification, inventory control, supplier corrective actions, and ERP systems such as SAP.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and cross‑functional teams while maintaining a high level of accountability, ownership, and customer focus.
