Bartender

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an opening for a Bartender at the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. This position provides high quality customer service during events, with accurate accounting of all transactions including inventory.

Note:

Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center Food and Beverage employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11; union membership is a condition of employment.

• Rate: $16.50 per hour

• Set up and service beverage locations
• Handle cash accurately and verify liquor inventory
• Enforce all liquor laws and follow bar procedures
• Prepare beverage items for sale and serve customers
• Process cash and/or tickets, and verify cash register programming
• Maintain proper sanitation and safety in the work area
• Provide pleasant and efficient service to customers
• Request identification for every guest purchasing alcohol
• Report to Food & Beverage personnel for assigned location
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Food Service Manager and Bar Captain

• Must be at least 21 years of age to apply
• Ability to take directions and perform work effectively
• Sufficient math ability to count and handle money
• Basic working knowledge of cash register and cash handling procedures
• Proficient in English for communication with customers and staff
• Pleasant personality and neat appearance
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of shift; ability to carry and lift per industry standards
• TIPS Certification
• CA Food Handler Card
• Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Education/
  
  Experience:
  
  High school diploma; bartending certification; two years of bartending experience or equivalent

• Regular standing and walking for extended periods
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to tolerate loud work environment
