Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP) is an ownership group dedicated to building a growing portfolio of independent minor league baseball teams. With a mission to harness the magic of baseball as a force for good, IBP invests in high-quality teams that contribute to their local communities, fostering innovation, entertainment, and civic pride. Our portfolio includes the Yuba‑Sutter High Wheelers, the Long Beach Baseball Club (LBBC), and other exciting teams in active development, such as the operational partnership with the Oakland Ballers.

The teams operate in the renowned Pioneer Baseball League, which partners exclusively with Major League Baseball to drive innovation within the sport.

This is a unique opportunity to drive sales for Long Beach's new independent professional baseball team. We're looking for someone who lives and breathes Long Beach—a leader who will ensure our team is deeply connected in the community and champions the culture that makes Long Beach so special.

Role Description

Long Beach Baseball Club is seeking a dynamic Ticket Sales Director to lead revenue generation efforts for our inaugural season. You will build and execute a comprehensive ticket sales strategy from the ground up, working closely with the Head of Marketing to establish our footprint in the Long Beach community. Innovation Baseball is committed to reimagining the fan experience through innovative approaches to sports entertainment, and this role offers a unique opportunity to shape the commercial foundation of a new professional baseball franchise.

This is a ground‑floor opportunity to build and scale our ticketing and sales operations from inception as part of a startup independent baseball team in Long Beach. The ideal candidate combines sales expertise with entrepreneurial creativity and a passion for baseball thriving in a fast‑paced startup environment where you'll have significant autonomy to shape the success of the new organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive ticket sales strategy across all inventory segments (season tickets, group sales, mini‑plans, single‑game tickets)
  • Establish revenue targets and pricing models for inaugural season and multi‑year projections
  • Build sales infrastructure from scratch, including CRM systems, processes, and performance metrics
  • Drive new season ticket member acquisition with focus on establishing founding member base
  • Recruit, train, and manage high‑performing sales team
  • Create sales training programs, playbooks, and accountability systems
  • Establish commission structures and incentive programs aligned with organizational goals
  • Foster culture of performance, collaboration, and innovation
Market Development
  • Work with SVP of Partnerships for IBP and in‑team partnerships and sales team members to advance outbound prospecting efforts targeting businesses and community groups in Long Beach and surrounding areas
  • Co‑develop premium seating and hospitality sales strategies with the Food & Beverage manager
  • Partner with Head of Marketing on integrated campaigns that drive awareness and ticket demand
  • Work cross‑functionally with marketing, community engagement, stadium operations, and game‑day teams
  • Collaborate on promotional calendar, theme nights, and community engagement initiatives
  • Provide insights on fan preferences and market trends to inform product development
  • Represent the organization at community events, networking functions, and business development opportunities
Analytics & Reporting
  • Track and report on sales KPIs, pipeline development, and conversion metrics
  • Analyze market data and sales trends to optimize strategies
  • Manage sales forecasting and inventory allocation
  • Prepare and facilitate regular updates for executive leadership
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressive ticket sales experience in professional sports, minor league baseball preferred
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and building successful sales teams
  • Experience managing full‑cycle B2B and B2C sales processes
  • Strong understanding of CRM platforms (Vivenu, Paciolan, or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to build sales operations from ground up or in startup/expansion environments
