Post Commander

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is under the direct supervision of the Operation Manager for assigned shift of the Security Department and is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of property, personnel, customers and all visitors.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

* Completes post duties for the Monday-Friday day shift schedule.

* Receive and review all information passed on from the client and communicate it to Management.

* Monitor all radio communications.

* Brief other guards on daily projects, shift changes, or special instructions.

* Assist security guards as needed.

* Conduct and attend safety meetings, where applicable.

* Meet with the client for daily projects, issues, or areas of concern as needed. Assist client as requested.

* Inspections:
Security booth; security guards (uniforms, grooming, and credentials); and any other inspections as needed.

* Patrol worksite and monitor security operations.

* Scheduling/payroll: manages schedules of security guards to ensure the post is fully staffed; submitting personal time-off requests; updating vacation/day off roster; updating attendance roster; entering and confirming time sheets in Tracktik, scanning, sending, and delivering payroll information to ACS office.

* Deliver and/or pick up documents or equipment at the ACS office as needed.

* Deliver operational reports at the end of each month.

* Meet with operations to analyze and enhance operations.

* Review, sort, and file all paperwork.

* Uniforms:
Receive employee requests for replacements, pick up and deliver uniforms items to security guards

* Training: ensure security guards receive state-mandated training; meet with newly hired or transferred security guards when first assigned to the worksite; issue a new-hire and training packet, give security guards a tour of the worksite and explain schedules; and appropriate training regarding worksite procedures during disasters, fires, and bomb threats; and any other training as needed.

* Ensure security guards receive and document their breaks and meal breaks.

* Ensure appropriate authorities and ACS management are notified when any incident occurs.

* Serve as a liaison with local law enforcement as needed.

* Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

* High School Diploma or Equivalent.

* 1 year of Security or Law Enforcement experience required.

* At least 6 months of supervisory experience required.

* Must maintain a valid California Security Guard License.

* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, in English, with staff and the public.

* Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures.

* Ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance.

* Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedure.

LANGUAGE

SKILLS:

* Ability to clearly read, write, and speak English;

* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret important security related documents;

* Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, employees, and management team.

MATHEMATICAL

SKILLS:

* Basic mathematical skills, including but not excluding addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical solutions.

REASONING ABILITY:

* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions;

* Ability to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedure.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND ESSENTIAL

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Requires the ability to frequently walk to employee work areas and other work areas;

* Requires the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs;

Requires close vision, distant vision, and the ability to adjust focus;

* Requires the ability to work in a work environment where there is moderate to extreme noise;

* Requires the ability to focus in a highly charged and noisy environment;

* Requires the ability to work in extreme outdoor temperatures of hot and cold;

* Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time;

* Must be able to routinely climb stairs and operate elevators while securing the post;

* Repetitive use of hands;

* Use of sight, including viewing computer monitors or camera monitors for long periods of time;

* Use of sound, including occasional conditions of high levels of noise;

* Requires extensive use of keyboard involving repetitive motions with fingers, sitting for prolonged periods of time, and extensive use of the telephones/radios and face-to-face communication that requires accurate perception of speech as well as talking and hearing.

Pay Range: $22.60 per hour
