Position Overview

Great Basin Staffing LLC is seeking a highly qualified Instrumentation Technician for an immediate long-term opportunity in Long Beach, CA
. This position supports a high-profile client in the refinery and oil & gas industry
, focusing on maintenance, calibration, and repair of complex instrumentation and control systems.

• Maintain, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot a wide range of industrial instrumentation and controls
• Support the installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems in refinery environments
• Interpret and apply technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and emergency corrective work
• Ensure all work meets company and regulatory safety standards (e.g., OSHA, NEC, PSM)
• Communicate technical updates and system status to engineers and project managers
• Participate in site safety meetings and follow all refinery safety protocols

• Active California ET Card (Electrician Trainee Certification)
• Minimum 2 years of industrial instrumentation experience (refinery/oil & gas preferred)
• Strong knowledge of loop checks, calibration, and control panel wiring
• Proficient in the use of multimeters, loop calibrators, HART communicators
  , and other diagnostic tools
• Must be able to read and interpret P&, technical manuals, and blueprints
• Must provide own hand tools and basic cordless power tools
• Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills
• Clean background – required for refinery access
• Commitment to safety, dependability, and professionalism

• Familiarity with Emerson, Rosemount, Honeywell, or Yokogawa instrumentation
• Experience working with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLC-based systems
• Exposure to gas detection systems
  , flame detection, and safety shutdown loops
• Experience performing loop tuning and working with instrumentation databases or CMMS systems
• Basic understanding of NEC, ISA, and ANSI standards
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to Long Beach, CA
