- Operate different types of cranes/crawler cranes (Tadano ATF 100G-4, ATF 130G-5, MLC
300, LR11000, LR1300, LTR
1100) - Precisely place one‑off, non‑replaceable loads in certain areas with crane and dual crane lifts
- Support inspection and maintenance of hydraulic and crawler cranes
- Tilt, dip and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under and/or around obstacles using multi‑point rigging techniques
- Perform different rigging challenges
- Assist with rigging and driving forklifts on top of crane‑cab duties
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) certification (LBC‑TLL)
- 5+ years of experience operating crawler cranes and hydraulic cranes
- 5+ years of experience in rigging
- Experience working with delicate lifting operations (e.g., wind farms, power plants, oil refinery industry)
- Experience with tear‑down and build of crawler cranes
- NCCER/NCCCO rigging certification
- Experience with a variety of rigging equipment – shackles, straps, slings, rope, hoists
- Ability to calculate and determine appropriate lifting equipment
- Strong working knowledge of lifting signals and communications
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high‑paced, challenging work environment
- Ability to work the following shift, overtime, and weekends as needed
- Day shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- Must pass Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base
- Willing to support frequent travel between the Port of Long Beach and Vandenberg Space Force Base
- Valid driver’s license (class “B” or better)
- Capacity to perform job duties requiring standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, working in cramped positions, hand‑over‑hand climbing, lifting 50 lbs., and working on ladders/lifts at elevated heights
- Ability to work in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- On‑the‑job (OJT) training required
- Pay range:
- Critical Lift & Transport Technician/Level 1: $33.00 – $41.75 per hour
- Critical Lift & Transport Technician/Level 2: $37.50 – $47.25 per hour
- Critical Lift & Transport Technician/Level 3: $41.75 – $52.75 per hour
- Base salary determined case‑by‑case based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience
