At VCI Construction, LLC, as a Lineman I Telecom, you’ll perform aerial cable installation procedures and techniques including placing poles and anchors.

• Repair and maintain major cable systems and structures (lashing, aerial strand, pole transfers, guys, conversions, substructure, cable replacement) during outages, maintenance, and rebuilds.
• Read and interpret work orders, specifications, drawings, and cut sheets; complete daily production reports and As‑Built documentation.
• Perform construction tasks: digging, pole work, placing/removing poles and anchors, stringing wire/cable, laying conduit.
• Operate power equipment (compressors, diggers, aerial lifts, bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators); use test equipment for gas checks; empty manholes; safely use hand and power tools.
• Dismantle, move, remove aerial/underground/building wire and hardware; connect wires/cables to terminals; assist with fiber/telecom cable installation.
• Respond to emergencies outages requiring heavy construction; travel for storm response on short notice.
• Ensure public safety and compliance with governmental orders; maintain safe work areas for traffic flow; work safely at heights using hooks and ladders.
• Able and willing to work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid non‑provisional state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Previous construction experience desired, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
• 2–5 years recent experience in telecom line construction.
• Extensive knowledge of approved practices, procedures, tools, and materials used in telecom line construction work.
• Ability to identify differences in wire and cable colors.
• Required to lift moderately heavy equipment (telephone line), climb structures, and stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures and CPR.
• Ability to apply mathematical calculations (e.g., fractions for drilling and pole sizing).
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at high elevations (poles, lift buckets, ladders).
• Ability to apply logical principles and thinking to solve problems and make decisions.
• Willingness to perform work to support the values and goals of the company.

• Routinely work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and remote locations, climb stairs, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk, and lift up to 55 lbs.; operate vehicle and heavy machinery.
• Occasionally use keyboard and mouse.

US $21.00 – $27.00 per hour
