This is a Full‑Time (37.5 hours), Non‑Exempt Position.

Job Details

Under the supervision of Children’s Home Society of California’s Program Manager, the Program Associate will:

  • Support management staff in carrying out the activities of the Child Care Payment Program
  • Conduct intake file review in conjunction with management staff
  • Monitor quality assurance and ensure contract compliance
  • Provide constructive feedback to intake staff in a positive and supportive manner
  • Mentor and train intake program specialists in the delivery of case‑management services to eligible families, including certification, recertification, and termination of services
  • Provide case‑management to eligible families, including intake, certification, and termination of services
  • Conduct intake and recertification appointments
  • Provide technical assistance and resources to families and child‑care providers
  • Maintain all records in a high‑quality manner and within record‑protection, retention, and destruction guidelines
  • Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as applicable contractual and governmental regulations
  • Work some evening and weekend hours, as needed, to support programming for client services
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Human Services or Human Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (desired)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or Child Development field (desired) or Associate’s Degree plus three (3) years of experience (required)
  • Prior non‑profit experience preferred
  • Experience with child development and/or early childhood education program preferred
  • Skills needed to assess training needs, conduct research, and develop high‑quality trainings for a variety of audiences
  • Self‑motivator with a strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with a flexible and positive attitude
  • Knowledge of California Code of Regulations Title 22 desired
  • Knowledge of local community resources and experience representing an organization in a professional capacity
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of parents from diverse economic and ethnic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and support to peers
  • Prior supervisory experience desired but not required
  • Ability to prepare and present effective written work, provide strong attention to detail, and produce error‑free work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the agency staff
  • Proactive self‑motivator with a professional, positive, and flexible attitude
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and be fully accessible during work hours, regardless of work location
  • Proven ability to establish rapport with parents, providers, and community organizations
