Software Quality Engineer (Associate or Experienced)

X team – Boeing Engineering, Test & Technology (ET&T) Software Engineering organization.
As a member of the Boeing Software Quality team, you will ensure that the proper processes are used for developing, controlling, and verifying software products for Boeing and suppliers. You will advocate First Time Quality strategies, support program milestones, and maintain the integrity of the test process.
Responsibilities- Define and maintain program‑level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure.
- Participate in program activities from initial proposal and planning to verification/certification and delivery.
- Perform process and product audits to verify that software lifecycle activities and products comply with approved software processes, plans, and standards.
- Support program milestone and formal review meetings, occasionally preparing and presenting information.
- Ensure the integrity of the test process and verify test results.
- Perform final reconciliation of software data products.
- Identify process or product non‑compliances; support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions and defect investigation/prevention activities.
- Collaborate with equipment managers of supplier products to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance.
- Act as an independent set of eyes and ears for Program Managers and the customer, highlighting potential best practices and areas for improvement.
- Support the identification and analysis of program/project software quality metrics to improve software quality and manage risk.
- 1+ year experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (Requirements Analysis, Design, Code, Integration & Test).
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
- Relevant work experience:
Level 2 – 1+ year, Level 3 – 3+ years; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) auditing.
- Software Quality Engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL‑STD‑882E requirements.
- Collaborative team experience using agile principles, code reviews, and automated Dev Ops processes/tools.
Pay is based on experience and qualifications. Arrange summary ranges:
Associate (Level
2): $74,800 - $101,200;
Experienced (Level
3): $89,250 - $120,750.
