Hourly – Program Administrator, Youth GED Program
The Hourly Program Administrator is responsible for the development, scheduling, and implementation of the Youth GED Program. Works directly with the Dean, and Coordinators to ensure all students participate in an Orientation and Assessment and are enrolled in appropriate classes in accordance with New Jersey Assessment Policy and all Federal WIOA Title I Regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement program curriculum with instructors in all 4 subject areas of the GED, Language Art, Social Studies, Math and Science.
- Coordinate and schedule the waitlist, orientation, Intake including pre and post testing, and enrollment of students into classes.
- Assist in the development and oversight of Youth GED Program budget.
- Liaise with Pearson Vue to ensure all students have properly created accounts and are utilizing the resources.
- Meet with students one-on-one or in small groups to address issues that may preclude student success.
Manage program compliance, assessment, regulatory requirements, and credentialing, including creating reports as required, ensuring attendance and educational gains are met and recorded properly.
- Provide direction and support to Program Coordinators and Instructors.
- Develop and maintain a relationship with to ensure students’ readiness and scheduling of all testing is done accurately and smoothly.
Provide management and leadership, collaborate with the Program Director and Program Coordinators to make recommendations for program improvements, and provide leadership and assistance as needed to ensure the smooth running of all programs.
- Work with the appropriate Brookdale staff in Admissions and Registration to develop a clear and smooth pathway from Literacy to enrollment at Brookdale.
Provide marketing oversight and outreach to support growth, including marketing initiatives to support program growth, maintaining the website to ensure all information is accurate, and participating in Brookdale recruitment and outreach events.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Program Coordinator/Administrator, Educational Leadership, Social Work, Youth Counselor or similar.

- Grant management and oversight, Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to develop positive relationships with a diverse student population.
- Ability to work in multi-project, fast-paced environment and meet concurrent deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively and to address problems through teamwork.
- Must be computer literate with ability to utilize Microsoft Office at an intermediate level and the ability to learn and utilize specific higher education programs and systems
- Ability to learn and apply office practices, procedures, policies, and regulations that are essential to the position.
- Fluency in a second language is preferred or may be required.
- Ability to travel within the county and state.
Preferred Qualifications & Special Considerations
- Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
- Occasional evening and weekend work and local travel may be required.
