The Vice President of Finance at Monmouth Medical Center oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategy, ensuring financial health and compliance for the hospital. The VP will work closely with executive leadership to drive performance, manage costs, optimize revenue cycles, and support strategic growth initiatives. Oversight includes the Patient Accounts, Finance, Patient Access Management, Budgets & Reimbursement, Special Financial Projects, and Medical Records Departments.
ReportsTo
- Reports directly to the SVP, Southern Region CFO, with a matrixed reporting relationship to the President and CEO, Monmouth Medical Center.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required).
- MBA or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (desirable, not required).
- Eight or more years of accounting, office management, and accounts receivable experience, with three to five years in a managerial position (required).
- Two to three years of directly related experience in healthcare financial services, including accounts receivable (strongly preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (desired) or 10–12 years of financial management experience (not required).
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting:
Collaborate on strategic direction and manage hospital operating and capital budgets. - Financial Planning & Analysis:
Develop financial forecasts, provide variance analysis, and work with department managers to create robust five‑year business plans. - Financial Reporting:
Ensure accurate, timely reporting for internal use, regulators, and government agencies (including monthly closes). - Margin & Revenue Cycle:
Identify medical cost trends, lead financial improvements, and proactively manage revenue cycle metrics, charge capture, and billing performance. - Education:
Provide financial education and expertise to clinical and operational leadership. - Regulatory Compliance:
Review state and federal regulations to ensure all financial and operational practices remain compliant. - Team Leadership:
Mentor and manage the site finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
