Vice President, Finance – Monmouth Medical Center Job Overview

The Vice President of Finance at Monmouth Medical Center oversees all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategy, ensuring financial health and compliance for the hospital, working closely with executive leadership to drive performance, manage costs, optimize revenue cycles, and support strategic growth initiatives. The VP will have oversight of the Patient Accounts, Finance, Patient Access Management, Budgets & Reimbursement, Special Financial Projects and Medical Records Departments.

This person directs the hospital activities concerned with general business operations, accounting, statistical reporting and third party reimbursement.

Reports To
  • The Vice President of Finance at Monmouth Medical Center reports directly to the SVP, Southern Region CFO, with a matrixed reporting relationship to the President and CEO, Monmouth Medical Center.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree with major in Accounting, Economics or other related field required.
  • MBA or Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association desirable, but not required.
  • Eight+ years accounting, office management and accounts receivable experience required, of which three to five years should be in a managerial position.
    • Two to three years of directly related experience in the healthcare financial services, including accounts receivable, field is strongly preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant is desired or ten - twelveyears financial management experience, but not required.
Essential Functions
  • Strategic Planning & Budgeting:Collaborating on strategic direction, mission advancement, and managing hospital operating and capital budgets.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis:Developing and managing financial forecasts, providing comprehensive variance analysis and recommendations, and working with department managers to develop robust five-year business plans and establish effective short- and long-range goals.
  • Financial Reporting:Ensuring accurate, timely reporting for internal use, regulators, and government agencies (including monthly closes).
  • Margin & Revenue Cycle:Identifying medical cost trends, leading financial improvements and proactively managing revenue cycle metrics, charge capture, and billing performance.
  • Education:Providing financial education and expertise to clinical and operational leadership.
  • Regulatory Compliance:Routinely reviewing state and federal regulations to ensure all financial and operational practices remain compliant.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage the site finance team, fostering a high-performance culture.
