Pay Range: $24.39 per hour

Job Overview

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated ED Technician for Monmouth Medical Center. Monmouth Medical Center (MMC) is one of New Jersey's largest community teaching hospitals, recognized as a top teaching hospital and a leader in patient safety and quality. This role is part of the Emergency Department and works under the direction of the registered nurse.

Qualifications Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • BLS (American Heart Association) certification
Preferred
  • Completion of a clinical care program such as Nursing Assistant (NA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Health Care Technician, or similar.
  • Prior clinical experience as an NA, CNA, PCA, EMT, or nursing/medical student.
  • Good communication skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Essential Functions
  • Act as a member of the health‑care team and perform selected patient‑care activities under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse.
  • Perform identified critical unit‑support activities and clerical/administrative functions as directed.
  • Provide patient care appropriate to the age of patients in the assigned service.
  • Ensure effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment, and critical actions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding the status of patient care.
  • Collaborate on patient‑care plans from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitions.
  • Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments or medical errors.
