The Rehabilitation Technician assists in front desk operations, supports rehab professionals in patient/resident care, manages inventory, assists in safety and emergency procedures, contributes to educational efforts for patients and staff, and supports Joint Institute activities.
QualificationsRequired:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of all required orientation programs
- Assist in front desk operations and scheduling for PT and OT; greet patients and families; schedule referrals for OT and PT outpatients; organize and manage incoming physician orders; use TDS and e-Therapi
X; answer phones and direct inquiries; support department workflow; perform front desk activities in outpatient PT when needed. - Assist in safety and emergency procedures; perform duties during emergencies; maintain a clean, safe environment with appropriate disinfectants; report hazards; perform hazard surveillance and routine checks; ensure compliance with standards; manage environmental issues and secure department/equipment; dispose of wastes and sharps per policy.
- Assist rehab professionals in patient/resident care; maintain neat environment; manage patient flow; provide patients and caregivers with rehab schedule information; assist with patient care as directed by therapists within regulatory standards; take vital signs as directed.
- Assist with Joint Institute activities; coordinate schedule with nursing and volunteers; assist with room setup/breakdown and move patients to/from group rooms; act as a resource for coaches and patients; coordinate lunch activities and volunteer activities; distribute Daily Newsletters; assist therapists with group activities and patient needs.
- Manage inventory; ensure adequate office and clinical supplies; place and follow up on orders; monitor inventory flow; ensure just-in-time levels; track expirations and minimize waste.
- Assist in educational efforts; educate patients and families; identify education needs and report to professional staff; assist in orientation of new staff; mentor students as appropriate.
