Job Summary

Within our Fencing, Lawn & Garden group. The Director of Supply Chain and Purchasing is a strategic leadership role responsible for the end-to-end management of the supply chain and purchasing division. This position supervises all areas of procurement, planning, logistics, warehousing, and distribution, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of materials and products. The Director will develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize performance, mitigate risks, and support the company's growth objectives.

Compensation Range: $140k-$150k annually

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with the company's overall business goals.
  • Identify and implement best practices to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
Procurement and Sourcing
  • Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of materials and components.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and manage vendor relationships.
  • Implement supplier performance management programs to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
Planning and Forecasting
  • Collaborate with demand planning and forecasting processes to ensure accurate inventory levels and production schedules.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to align supply chain plans with business needs.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems to optimize inventory levels and minimize obsolescence.
Logistics and Distribution
  • Collaborate with logistics and distribution, including transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment.
  • Optimize transportation routes and modes to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage import and export operations as needed.
Performance Management and Reporting
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track supply chain performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on supply chain performance and initiatives to senior management.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions to address performance gaps.
  • Manage and control the supply chain budget.
  • Identify and assess supply chain risks, including disruptions, volatility, and regulatory changes.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Establish and maintain business continuity plans.
