Wellness Nurse RN or LPN – JGS Lifecare

JGS Lifecare has been caring for elders in our community for more than a century, guided by Jewish traditions and values. We’re committed to providing compassionate care to improve physical, spiritual, and social needs.

Hours:

40 hrs/week, including every other weekend and every other holiday, scheduled weekday on‑call duty with rotating weekends.

Pay Range: $32–$36 per hour. Sign‑on bonus: $3,000.

Essential Functions of Position
  • Ensures excellence in resident care and programming.
  • Provides outreach and support to families.
  • Hires and retains dedicated care managers.
  • Facilitates ongoing training and educational opportunities for staff and families.
  • Stays up to date on the latest information on Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
  • Complies with annual in‑service training requirements as outlined in the Assisted Living Regulations from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA).
  • Maintains compliance with HIPAA, corporate compliance, risk management and patient safety.
  • Performs all job responsibilities in a manner exemplifying the Mission Statement of Jewish Geriatric Services.
  • Reports directly to the Resident Care Director.
  • Scheduled weekday on‑call duty 1 week per month, with rotating weekends.
  • Other special projects as identified.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Familiarity and compliance with the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Graduate of a NLN‑approved school for professional nursing.
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Nurse in Massachusetts and a CPR certificate.
  • One (1) year experience as a professional nurse within the last three years or completion of a refresher course in the past year.
  • One (1) year of experience in long‑term care, home care, or assisted living.
  • Demonstrated skill in physical assessment.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to post‑acute care.
  • Ability to function well in emergencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc. of the Nursing Department.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, applications, and other office equipment.
