Tax Preparer - Direct Hire Opportunity
Location:
Longmont, CO (Hybrid Position)
SNI Companies is working with a client to identify an experienced Tax Preparer for their growing team in Longmont, CO. This client-focused accounting firm provides comprehensive tax preparation, bookkeeping, and payroll services.
Position Overview
The Tax Preparer will be responsible for preparing individual and business tax returns, handling payroll and bookkeeping tasks, and producing accurate financial reports. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while collaborating with team members and clients.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of tax returns, including individual (1040), partnership (1065), S-corporation (1120S), corporate (1120), and nonprofit (990), using tax software.
- Address and resolve tax issues with federal and state agencies.
- Produce monthly financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports.
- Perform year-end reviews for clients, ensuring all financial records are accurate.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Manage accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R) processes for clients.
- Process payroll, including quarterly payroll reports and year-end preparation of W-2s and 1099s.
- Collaborate on larger team projects to meet deadlines effectively.
- 3+ years of tax preparation experience working with forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, and 990.
- Strong proficiency in Quick Books Desktop and familiarity with Quick Books Online.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Intuit Pro Series or similar tax preparation software preferred.
- Knowledge of payroll preparation and reporting processes.
- Sales tax experience is a plus.
- EA (Enrolled Agent) or CPA credentials are preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus, not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High level of professionalism, dependability, and ethical standards.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
