Sky Pond Architecture and Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead complex structural engineering projects, ensuring design integrity and compliance with industry standards. The right applicant will have the capability and desire to move up to Senior Project Engineer quickly. This role involves guiding and directing EITs, junior engineers, draftsmen, and working closely with our architectural department, promoting a collaborative environment for various project types, such as commercial, residential, multi‑family, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
Sky Pond is a Colorado firm providing engineering and architecture services to Estes Park, Boulder and the Front Range. - Lead the design and analysis of structural systems, ensuring compliance with codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318).
- Develop and review technical documents and drawings.
- Coordinate with the architectural department and stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers.
- Conduct site inspections.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Implement innovative engineering solutions.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
- Minimum of four years of relevant experience in residential and light commercial with management ambition.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is mandatory. Colorado license or ability to obtain.
- Proficiency in structural theory, practice, and software.
- Producing calculations and corresponding packages with software such as Excel, MathCAD, MATLAB.
- Knowledge of building codes and industry standards.
- Time management and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with Sketch Up and AutoCAD.
- Experience with sustainable design practices.
- Capability to move in to Principal Engineer position within six months of onboarding.
- Familiar with value‑based design alternatives, cost engineering, and resource‑driven solutions.
