Key Responsibilities
  • Provides technical sales support, applications engineering support, and product training for Sales channel partners and customers.
  • Prepares and submits product drawings for customers.
  • Prepares quotes, project submittals, and drawings as needed.
  • Reviews all new orders for accuracy and ensures technology is applied correctly, contacts the customer if there are questions regarding the order.
  • Evaluates customer returned RMAs, sends an intake report to the customer with recommendations of items to repair including cost and delivery.
  • Researches and selects mechanical components to meet product specifications and budget.
  • Works in conjunction with or under the supervision of senior level engineers on mechanical design projects within specification and budget constraints.
  • Works within a design team of multiple disciplines to provide assigned deliverables per the design process.
  • Designs and develops mechanical components and drawings to operate stand-alone or within existing product platforms.
  • Works with senior level engineers to create engineering change orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation and equipment (preferred).
General Requirements
  • Working knowledge in MS Office:
    Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge in Solid Works.
  • Ability to comprehend and relate technical product and process specifications.
  • Ability to review ISA data sheets to provide appropriate product choice(s).
  • Strong team player with a demonstrated ability to work productively with internal functional groups to support and respond to customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to condense information into actionable lists.
  • Ability to exercise strong follow-up on commitments.
  • Customer focused attitude.
  • Basic understanding of Applications Engineering, Technical Support, or Field Service roles and responsibilities.
  • Basic knowledge of Vor Tek products, applications, and industries (preferred).
  • Experience working for or with companies who manufacture Field Instruments (preferred).
Physical Demands
  • While performing this position, the employee must be able to and will regularly operate a computer, keyboard, and phone.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
