This is an Academy-Only hiring process to identify candidates for Police Recruit Step 1 positions
. The City of Longmont will sponsor you and pay you while you attend the Police Academy, covering all accredited academy‑related costs required to obtain Colorado POST certification.

• Step 2: $93,768 annually
• Step 3: $8,327 monthly
• Step 4: $8,841 monthly
• Step 5: $9,355 monthly
• Step 6: $9,878 monthly
• Master Police: $124,464 annually

Steps are awarded on anniversary dates. Step 1 is achieved upon successful completion of the Field Training Program.

In a training capacity, Police Recruits will:

• Protect life and property through enforcement of laws and City ordinances
• Manage conflict and support community safety efforts
• Control traffic flow and conduct investigative work
• Support special crime prevention, community engagement, and enforcement programs
• Work collaboratively with the community to resolve problems and concerns
• Perform technical and administrative duties in support of the Department

This position requires completion of a Colorado State‑sanctioned training academy or POST equivalency
