Overview

A Pet’s Place Animal Hospital in Longmont, Colorado offers a full range of veterinary services. The goal is to provide excellent veterinary care promoting a healthy lifestyle for all stages of a pet’s life and to educate owners to make informed decisions about their pets’ well-being.

More about the Role:
Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, the Practice Manager oversees all essential business functions in a veterinary practice and supports the practice teams. The Practice Manager works with the Managing Doctor (MDVM) to ensure successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, and profitable, sustainable practice growth. The key focus areas are Practice Operations, HR, Marketing, Strategic Planning, and IT Management.

The Practice Manager must be a strong people manager with solid business acumen and enjoy leading and developing a team to deliver high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manages practice financial performance, drives revenue growth, and engages teams around activities that support profitability.
  • Manages practice expenses including pharmacy, supplies, labor, and facility.
  • Ensures appropriate inventory management and balance of stock and sales.
  • Works with the MDVM to ensure accurate pricing and provides input during annual budget planning.
  • Analyzes performance reports, generates insights, and implements actions to improve results.
  • Directs daily operations to support doctors and technicians in managing workloads.
  • Ensures all practice technology is functioning properly.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies, documents incidents, and partners with the Regional Director of Operations as appropriate.
  • Maintains cleanliness and an environment that contributes to an excellent client experience.
  • Manages staff scheduling and patient scheduling to meet client and team needs.
  • Manages vendor relationships to ensure quality support for supplies, tools, equipment, and resources.
  • Oversees payroll records, compliance with payroll regulations, and addresses payroll inquiries.
  • Performs accounts payable duties and maintains accurate records.
  • Partners with MDVM to maintain a compliant medical records system.
  • Reviews client feedback and identifies opportunities for improvement; engages with clients to ensure satisfaction and resolve problems.
  • Collaborates with Heartland Marketing to develop and implement marketing strategies; oversees social media and community relationships.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing and partners with recruiting to fill open requisitions.
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders to drive practice success and improve operational efficiency and client experience.
  • Supports practice by assisting at the client reception area or providing clinical support where skilled.
  • Partners with Heartland Support Center and RDO as needed to align policies and operations.
  • Ensures adherence to operating procedures, veterinary record accuracy, and regulatory reporting guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, DEA, EEOC, ADA, and DOL requirements; maintains procedures to meet regulatory standards.
  • Ensures annual compliance training and policy sign-off for all team members.
  • Maintains confidentiality and manages performance, development, and payroll-related processes.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings, trainings, and team activities; handles employee relations with HR support as needed.
  • Monitors team performance and implements recognition or corrective actions as needed; seeks RDO/HR support for complex issues.
  • Ensures professional development and ongoing feedback for team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements/

Qualifications:

  • Full-time, on-site, ability to work on weekends when needed
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
    Associate degree in applied science, veterinary technology, or business a plus;
    Practice Manager Certification a plus
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier lifting as needed
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages
  • Strong communication skills and client service experience

Pay Range:

USD $55,000.00 - USD $65,000.00 /Yr.
