Site Quality Lead
Advanced Thin Films (ATF) develops and manufactures high‑performance optical components for laser markets, setting the standard for advanced laser system coatings. As Site Quality Lead, you will drive a strong culture of quality throughout the company, championing quality’s role in the facility through training and process implementation.
About the RoleResponsible for driving quality improvements across key customers and products. Lead engineering‑data driven approaches to RCCM, sustain quality enhancements, and maintain ATF’s QMS system in adherence to ISO 9001.
Key Responsibilities- Lead maintenance of ATF’s ISO registration: surveillance and certification audits, internal audit program, quality management reviews, and execution of corrective/preventative actions from audit findings.
- Drive cross‑functional leadership to ensure quality priorities and objectives are met; mentor and champion quality culture within the organization.
- Develop and maintain ATF’s quality roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Lead quality planning for development projects or changed processes to address risks and opportunities before scaled production.
- Initiate, facilitate, and lead cross‑functional teams for structured problem‑solving and corrective/preventative actions using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Monitor in‑process and final testing and inspection; adjust quality control checks using statistical data and reports to meet customer requirements.
- Solve problems at the point of impact.
- Implement updated and improved manufacturing technology to enhance key metrics.
- Create and manage project timelines.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing daily critical issues.
- Establish, follow, and enforce all safety regulations.
- Utilize data analysis techniques to prioritize solutions.
- Support and continuously improve the RMA program.
- Support Nonconformance Reporting program, including investigations, disposition, and action‑plan development.
- Communicate change effectively at all organizational levels.
- Create standard work documents and modify them to drive process repeatability.
- Train employees in QMS and quality best practices.
- Develop and audit best practices to ensure employee performance and development.
- Own COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) metric and drive RCCMs to control scrap within the facility.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Administration with strong experience in quality and manufacturing.
- 3–5 years of experience in process, quality, or optical engineering.
- Familiarity with statistical process control or similar methods.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements, Lean Principles, Six Sigma, and statistics.
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong statistical toolbox; proficient with JMP or Minitab.
- Use engineering fundamentals for root‑cause analysis and sustainable countermeasures.
- Systems thinker with a lean and strategic mindset.
- Ability to set personal deadlines and project schedules.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of optical test equipment.
- Working knowledge of database or process software.
- Hands‑on approach to learning and teaching others.
