Hello, I'm Clémence, Recruitment and Business Development Consultant at Fed Finance, a recruitment consultancy specialising in finance and accounting jobs. I work on two types of recruitment: temporary and permanent in the Greater Montreal area. Our team of finance experts speaks your language and works in your workplace. We cover the finance, accounting and payroll professions.
Responsibilities- Collaborate on the entire cycle of financial reporting and calculate compensation for the firm's professionals, supporting the Director of Finance and Administration in managing daily accounting operations and preparing payroll.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, the invoicing process, and month‑end entries.
- Process and record financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Approve invoices.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable, issuing reminders as necessary.
- Respond to requests for information from lawyers and notaries, maintaining good relationships with them and resolving issues.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts and the general ledger.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing activities by preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
- Prepare various reports and contribute to the preparation of financial statements for internal use.
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget by collecting data from various departments.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes.
- Produce ad hoc analyses for management.
- Actively collaborate in IT developments, optimisation and process automation.
- Improve financial reports using Excel, Power BI and AI tools.
- Participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis.
- Support the audit process by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
- All other related tasks.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA designation (an asset).
- 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, with advanced expertise in Excel.
- Familiarity with JurisÉvolution software and the legal field (an asset).
- Ability to supervise or mentor colleagues.
- Proficiency in professional French and functional English.
- Understanding of Canadian accounting standards (CPAC) and tax principles is essential.
