About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:
- Oversee and manage health and safety (H&S) operations across multiple construction sites.
- Conduct inspections, audits, and risk analyses, and communicate findings to field teams.
- Coach forepersons and superintendents on safety standards and legislative compliance.
- Participate in investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Organize and monitor H&S training, onboarding sessions, and annual refreshers.
- Coordinate respiratory protection, audiometric testing, and contaminant control programs.
- Ensure compliance, availability, and maintenance of safety equipment.
- Track performance using H&S KPIs and identify trends to improve safety outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of safe work methods, policies, procedures, and awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with operations to prepare new projects and qualify workers assigned to job sites.
- Identify and help prevent psychosocial risks on construction sites.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the H&S Director.
About You – The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
- A university certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
- A valid General Health and Safety on Construction Sites certification (ASP Construction card).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships.
- Autonomy, initiative, and a proactive mindset.
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, influencing, and leadership abilities.
- A valid driver’s licence.
