Recreational Activities Technician – Multiple Postings
Positions available starting July 1, 2026, within the Riverside School Board offices, schools and Access Centers.
Responsibilities
Organize, prepare and implement social, cultural, and sports activities for groups, including music, theatre, cinema, visual arts, exhibitions, sports tournaments, and gymnastics.
Prepare program schedules, ensure smooth operations, explain objectives and regulations, identify abnormal situations and report appropriately.
Use facilitation techniques to assist groups in organizing and setting up leisure activities.
Provide information, guide, and direct students with respect to residence life and maintain communication with school staff and parents when needed.
Maintain equipment inventory, select and recommend equipment and materials, and oversee maintenance.
Train less experienced technicians and coordinate support staff for technical operations related to program implementation.
Perform any other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Diploma of College Studies in Community Recreation and Leadership Training, or a diploma or attestation recognized as equivalent.
Experience/knowledge with children and/or adults with special needs.
Excellent English and French language skills, written and spoken.
Proficiency with Office 365 applications.
Ability to engage enthusiastically and intervene with neurodiverse adults and vocational training students.
Ability to plan, implement, and participate in physically active programming (games, outings, sports, creative projects, community activities).
Ability to promote a care and well‑being environment, supporting health and mental health initiatives.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing group dynamics and schedules.
Salary
$955.50 to $1,235.85 per 35‑hour week, according to qualifications and experience.
