Description
We require a part‑time instructor for the Fall 2026 semester to teach the course INTERNSHIP (351-691-LA). The course represents the final phase of students’ supervised work experience through an extended, full‑time internship, providing an opportunity to integrate learning from previous courses and fieldwork.
Students will demonstrate increased autonomy and confidence as Special Education Technicians by applying a wide range of interventions in practical settings. Assignments and supervision focus on animating clinical activities, emphasizing prevention, adaptation, and rehabilitation. Students determine and implement intervention strategies, animate sessions, and evaluate outcomes, supporting clients in maintaining and developing abilities, applying coping strategies, and facilitating social and professional integration, while managing crises through evaluation, de‑escalation, and follow‑up techniques.
Students are expected to write objective reports using professional terminology and participate in seminars to share their experiences and make meaningful contributions.
Responsibilities
Teach the INTERNSHIP course during the specified schedule.
Deliver in‑person activities and conduct online meetings as required.
Provide individual and small‑group supervision, focusing on clinical activities, intervention animation, and outcome evaluation.
Support students in maintaining and developing abilities, applying coping strategies, and facilitating social and professional integration.
Manage crises through evaluation, de‑escalation, and follow‑up techniques.
Coordinate stage placements for students and supervise 10 students, including final student presentations.
Prepare objective reports for assessment and conduct final presentations.
Deliver stage supervision onsite at the internship setting.

Wednesdays 1‑4 (Dec. 16 ONLY)
Thursdays 9‑12 (Aug. 13 & 27; Sep.

Fridays 9‑12 (Sep. 4 & 25; Oct. 23; Nov. 27)
The schedule may change based on the needs of the program.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
At least 2 years of teaching experience.
Teaching experience within a similar program and relevant fieldwork experience (supervision) is an asset.
Proficiency in English required; bilingualism is an asset.
Ability to deliver activities or meetings online.
