Shape the future of autism education at Champlain College Saint-Lambert as an instructor for the Understanding the Individual with Autism course. Deliver hybrid instruction focusing on cognitive structures.
This role involves teaching a Continuing Education course that explores autistic thinking and effective adaptive strategies. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and possess at least two years of teaching experience. Extensive interaction with autistic individuals for at least three years is essential to foster engaging learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide hybrid teaching with monthly in-person classes
• Explain cognitive structures underlying autism effectively
• Engage students in meaningful discussions
• Design relevant course content for diverse learners
• Assess student understanding and adapt strategies
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Care Counselling or related
• At least 2 years of teaching experience required
• Minimum of 3 years working with autistic individuals
• English fluency necessary for course delivery
• Prior experience in related teaching programs is a plus
