The Training Coordinator is responsible for creating, administering, communicating, promoting, and evaluating on-site training programs and customer initiatives and ensuring the safe, practicable, and efficient delivery of training while administering direction towards rules compliance and monitoring.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve Cando's site training, onboarding, qualification, and revalidation programs.
- Work with training coordinators from other Cando sites to Develop, implement, and continuously improve Cando's site training, onboarding, qualification, and revalidation programs.
- Maintain current competency profiles, training pathways, evaluation standards, and qualification requirements for operational positions.
- Develop and update training materials and practical evaluations based on operating procedures, safety requirements, customer standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Coordinate new-hire orientation, classroom instruction, field training, evaluations, qualifications, refresher training, and revalidations.
- Monitor trainee progression and facilitate regular reviews with supervisors, trainers, and site leadership.
- Identify training or competency gaps and coordinate coaching, remediation, retraining, or reassessment.
- Develop and maintain effective processes for selecting, supporting, and aligning workplace trainers and evaluators.
- Promote consistent training and evaluation standards across operational work groups and shifts.
- Maintain accurate training, competency, qualification, and revalidation records and monitor upcoming expiries, booking required training for staff.
- Develop training plans aligned with hiring forecasts, employee turnover, operational requirements, and customer expectations.
- Monitor training capacity, qualification timelines, potential bottlenecks, and risks to workforce readiness.
- Incorporate lessons from incidents, near losses, audits, operating changes, and field observations into training programs.
- Prepare regular reports on trainee progression, training compliance, qualification status, and upcoming requirements.
- Support internal and customer audits related to training and competency and coordinate resulting corrective actions.
- Maintain a visible field presence and effective working relationships across the operation at all hours of the day.
- Provide limited operational leadership coverage during exceptional circumstances while maintaining primary accountability for training programs.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, administer, and improve industrial training and onboarding programs.
- Knowledge of adult learning, workplace instruction, competency-based training, and practical skills assessment.
- Ability to convert operating procedures and safety requirements into clear, practical training materials.
- Strong planning, coordination, organizational, and project-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees of different backgrounds, experience levels, and learning needs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, defensible training and competency records.
- Sound judgment and confidence to identify and elevate situations where training or competency standards have not been met.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with training-record or learning-management systems is an asset.
