Expand your career as a Mine Engineering Technician (Ground Control) at Compass Minerals in Goderich, Ontario. This hands-on role involves on-site responsibility for ground safety and data management.
In this position, you will work closely with the Ground Control Engineer to assist in underground rock mechanics. Duties include the installation and data gathering of rock instrumentation and assisting with geological mapping. Your analytical skills will be vital in ensuring operational integrity and safety in the world's largest underground salt mine.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install rock mechanics instrumentation and conduct regular data analysis
• Inspect underground workings and draft necessary rehab plans
• Complete geologic mapping for operational assessments
• Perform detailed 3D scanning and processing of areas
• Facilitate weekly ventilation surveys and corrective action plans
Requirements:
• Qualified Mine Engineering Technologist or Technician
• 3-5 years of mining experience preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
• Strong analytical abilities needed
• Willingness to work at heights in confined spaces
